The best way to improve your FIGHT GAME.

There is a saying about business that I think applies very well to fighting.

"If you want to succeed in business, you must be in business."
What that means is that the only way you learn how to run a business is to start one and run it. Face all obstacles, negotiate through them and either thrive or fail, which either way you learn how to make a better business.

In fighting if you want to be a successful fighter, you must fight. You have to fight in order to see exactly what your condition is made of. Your fears, your weakness, your strengths, your ability all become rapidly apparent. I remember Sparring first and being overwhelmed with feeling of thrill and the terror of not being able to breath and move. Over time the stimulus became less stimulating and I felt calmer in sparring, despite the perpetual danger. I learned to work on my conditioning for which I employed old school running and new school crossfit to make it better.  I saw my natural tendencies to attack and making combinations and I saw my weakness  of having shorter arms and needing to burst in and opening up like a mother fucker!

At some point I realized that most sparring partners are just not that motivated to fight to hard with me, and I was not interested in hurting myself for nothing, so I signed up for my first fight. Granted I was in Thailand it was easy to get a fight, but it was Muay Thai. I had trained my self, and travelled to many gyms so I walked into the fight knowing that I need to test myself.

Your first fight, will teach you infinite amounts about who you are in minutes, which feel like warp speed seconds. Then you go back to the lab, and keep experimenting until you progress through your game.

This is all necessary if and only if you are dead serious about the need to increase your fighting capability. If not, just lead a peaceful life, hire a bodyguard, and enjoy a life without violence. But if you are like me, and are military minded as Machiavelli recommend for all Prince's  to be, then you have to FIGHT. Welcome to Fight Club.
